POLE  POSITION

We are four members in our team. Kyriakos, George S., Konstaninos and George P.

 

We were led to the decision to participate in the competition from our strong interest in Mathematics, Physics and of course cars.Constantinos is the little brother of Kyriakos. George  S. and George P. are their closest friends. We all grew up in the same school, the American College of Greece, which is for us like a second home.

 

Kyriakos and George S., very close friends from high school, have worked together successfully for the 2011 robotics competition WRO. With the help of their teacher Mr. F. Katsochristos, they placed third in the National Competition.

 

Kyriakos and George S. are both studying, since autumn, engineering at the National Technical University of Athens. Kyriakos dreams to be in the future one of the successful Greek aerodynamicists in the the world of Formula 1. George S. looks forward to an international carreer in computer programming.

 

Constantinos and George P., the young members of the team, follow the steps of the older ones. They both have particular interest in science and also aim in studying engneering at the NTUA. They have ease in working with 3D CAD design packages. George P. has already participated in many math competitions. The two of them are working in parallel for this year's Robotics competition, in which they intend to participate.

 

But a healthy mind is within a healthy body, as our ancient Greek ancestors said. We spend most of our free time making sports. We like skiing, water skiing, Volleyball, Wakeboard, Basketball and Football. Kyriakos and Konstantinos play Volleyball in the Greek league, in categories according to their age. They also ski in the winter and wakeboard in the summer. The older George likes to spend his free time windsurfing and biking and the younger George is the Baketball team of our school.

 

Since today, May 4 2014, POLE POSITION is one of the teams that will represent Greece in the World Finals.
